Team Dynamic and Collaboration
Working well with your team and others who collaborate with you is essential to a good team dynamic. In large organizations and small teams alike, it is important that you can trust and rely on those around you. Having a good team dynamic fosters a healthy environment to work in. Healthy work environments in turn can nurture a successful project.

It is important for leaders to encourage collaboration within their teams. It is also equally as important that leaders participate in the team dynamic as well, and d onto cause any tense or unfriendly feelings towards their team members.

Artifact: Team Dynamic and Collaboration
The artifact I chose for this core competency is from my personal life. Last year I was asked to be a freshman girls basketball coach at my old high school. Because of my college basketball experience, I was also asked to be an assistant coach to the varsity team, and work with their point guards. Having been apart of multiple teams for most of my life, team dynamic was nothing new to me. Working a a coach to a team was a different story. I had to learn how to fit into the team dynamic as a leader instead of a player. This was difficult at first, but once me and the girls got closer, and formed a friendship, we were able to accomplish many things. Among this was the varsity team winning the State Tournament in 2020. Another aspect of team dynamic I have experience with is my family. My sisters were both on the varsity team that I helped coach, and coming from a family of athletes, all of my siblings and I have worked together in many ways since we were young. My siblings, husband and I are State Champions in 1 or more sports, except for the youngest, who has just entered high school. As a family who bonds over sports, our unique team dynamic was to challenge each other and push one another to be better on the court and in our personal lives. These experiences have helped me understand what it means to work with others towards a common goal.

Reflections: Team Dynamic and Collaboration
Working within a team dynamic is a huge part of being a leader. In the Organizational Leadership program, there is a huge emphasis on leadership itself, and how leaders interact with their followers or their team. This interaction, and the unique dynamic every leader has with their team has a great impact on projects. Leaders that can work well within teams and can encourage their members to work well with each other have a higher chance of success, and a higher level of team satisfaction.
Growth and Development
Before I started this program, and started learning about being a leader, this was a field I was very familiar with. Being apart of this program has helped me expand my knowledge outside of my experiences, and apply this new knowledge to my current situations. I have been able to use my skills and knowledge in team dynamics to help me collaborate in school projects, office work, and in my personal life with my family. As an aspiring leader, I have come to understand that this is a very important part of leadership.
